Celebrity eyewear lines for kids and adults
11 celebrity eyewear lines to watch in 2022
If you’re on the hunt for new glasses, consider a pair of frames designed by one of your favorite musicians or movie stars. From Elton John and Gwen Stefani to Dan Levy and Sofia Vergara, a number of stars have dipped their toes into the field of eyewear design.
Before choosing your next pair of glasses, there’s plenty to think about. Are there any celebrities you want to emulate? What frame shape and style do you like? Do you want a specific color or pattern? Do you need extra-strength frames for outdoor activities? Is the brand name important to you?
When many celebrities design eyewear, they take into account both their personal style and values, from leopard-print patterns to biodegradable materials.
Here are 11 celebrity eyewear lines and collaborations to look out for in 2022:
1. Elton John
Sir Elton John, known for both his legendary musical career and legendary sense of style, is among many celebrities who have broken into eyewear design. For decades, he’s sported eccentric eyewear and now he’s sharing his style in an eyewear line called “Elton John Eyewear,” available at Walmart and Sam’s Club.
“My style is what gives me confidence. And I just don’t feel ‘myself’ without my glasses,” John has said of his famous spectacles.
He designed the line for everyone who needs (or wants) to wear glasses while “[staying] true to themselves in a world that pushes them to be someone else.” The collection features frames that are inspired by John’s lifetime achievements, with names like “Tin Pan Alley” and “A-List.” You can choose from different lenses in shades of pink, purple, blue and traditional clear.
Walmart Inc. has vowed to donate a minimum of $1 million annually to the Elton John AIDS Foundation with proceeds from the collection’s sales. Frames start at $99.
2. Dan Levy
Schitt’s Creek star and co-creator Dan Levy is no stranger to prescription eyewear; he’s worn glasses since he was just 9 years old. Given his love of fashion as an adult and his need for vision correction, it was only natural for Levy to create his own eyewear line: DL Eyewear.
You’ll find everything from eyeglasses to sunglasses to blue light-filtering glasses in the collection.
Highland — A classic thick-rimmed black frame that can be dressed up or down. Dan himself wore these to the Emmys (and won).
Beaumont — Rounded casual frames that complement any and all face shapes. Like many in the collection, this frame comes in several different colors.
Rose — A nod to the beloved character Moira Rose on Schitt’s Creek, these cat-eye frames are described as bold and contemporary.
Note: Whether you choose a pair of sunglasses from Dan Levy’s line or someone else’s, make sure your shades have 100% ultraviolet (UV) protection.

3. Lisa Loeb
Next on the list is songstress Lisa Loeb. It would be an understatement to say that her hit “Stay” is one of the most loved songs of the ‘90s. And speaking of hits, let’s talk about her eyewear line: Lisa Loeb Eyewear.
The line is inspired by 1960s and ‘70s glamour, including cat-eye frames and retro shapes. Each pair also gives a nod to her music career, with a clef note featured on the corners and guitar pick accents on the temples of select pairs.
In the collection, you’ll find frames with names like “Stay,” “Truthfully” and “Firecracker,” all named after the songs that made her famous.
4. Jessica Simpson
When you think of pop sensations, Jessica Simpson probably comes to mind. After launching her music career in 1997, she became a quick favorite in the spotlight. She pivoted her expertise to the world of fashion and has since released her own brand of clothing, accessories, shoes and even some exercise equipment.
Simpson has also added eyewear to the list, including sunglasses, blue-light-filtering readers and prescription eyeglasses.
They’re sold by online retailers as well as optical boutiques. You can also find Simpson’s sunglasses in specialty stores like Lord & Taylor. Every pair reflects her own alluring and feminine qualities.
Whether you’re looking for some crystal pink frames (like the JT103 frames) to embrace your girly side or a sophisticated pair of square black glasses (like the J1191 frames), the prescription glasses are definitely worth browsing. And the sunglasses have a special little flair for everyone, from glittery and striking to classic tortoiseshell frames.
5. Gwen Stefani
Eclectic, edgy, bold. These are all words that come to mind when describing both Gwen Stefani and her eyewear lines, L.A.M.B. and gx by Gwen Stefani.
As a musician who has embraced her share of vibrant hair colors and music genres, there’s “no doubt” that her collection keeps things exciting. You can choose from sparkly houndstooth, squiggly gold waves, pink leopard print, black and blue mosaic, and more.
There’s also a gx line for kids with some of the same prints, in case you wanted to have a matching moment with your son or daughter.
6. Hilary Duff
Hilary Duff is one of those celebrities who exudes casual chic. She’s been on the screen since she was a kid, and every character she plays has its own unique sense of fashion. In real life, Duff is just as cool, and her style shines through in one of her latest collaborations with Muse.
Duff worked with Muse to design an eyewear collection that includes stylish aviators, mod round frames and more. Many eyeglasses have the option to add clip-on shades too.
By the way, if you’re part of the generation that grew up watching Lizzie McGuire, you’ll be happy to know that the collection includes a frame called the “Lizzie.” And don’t fret if you don’t need vision correction — frames are also available with non-prescription lenses.
7. Jamie Foxx
Thought to be one of Hollywood’s triple threats, actor, comedian and singer Jamie Foxx has also found success in the eyewear industry.
Foxx launched his eyewear line, Privé Revaux, in 2019 and it remains a best seller in 2022. Both men and women can indulge in the budget-friendly collection, which includes eyeglasses, sunglasses, blue light glasses and readers for under $50.
Whether you fancy a pair of translucent red cat-eye glasses, ocean blue computer glasses or caviar black square-shaped sunnies, you’re sure to find a flashy new look from Privé Revaux.
8. Tom Brady
Tom Brady may be done with football for now, but he’s made his way into the eyewear industry in a new collaboration with Christopher Cloos. The Brady Collection features a vintage-style frame in six classic color selections. Each has the option to be fitted with prescription lenses, with or without tinting (for sunglasses) or a blue light filter.
With seven hard-earned Super Bowl rings, you could say Brady is already an expert on accessorizing. He wanted to bring the details and precision of his game into the design of the glasses. Brady also ensured his namesake frames would be made with sustainable materials to fit their timeless look.
Brady and Cloos teamed up again to create the eco-friendly Pacifica Collection, which includes the same lens and frame color options as the classic design. Both collections have a virtual try-on tool so you can make sure you’ll look sensational before you make your purchase.
9. Bode Miller
If you’re an avid skier, you know how important it is to protect your eyes from the wind and the intense brightness of the sun and its reflection off the snow. Wearing sunglasses or snow goggles with 100% UV protection is the best way to prevent snow blindness and general discomfort while you’re out on the slopes.
Former Olympic skier Bode Miller recently joined forces with Revo to produce two different pairs of performance sunglasses. The titanium frames are notably lightweight with carbon fiber details. Both the “Alpine” and “Freestyle” sunglasses are part of the Revo Black collection.
They have polarized, mirrored and photochromic lenses that automatically adjust to light and dark environments. With durable frames and high-quality lenses, these sunglasses can withstand intense activity and extreme temperatures, making them perfect for winter sports.
This is actually the second collaboration between Miller and Revo. In 2020, they released five high-end goggle designs for both professional and amateur skiers and snowboarders. All are available for purchase on revo.com. The sunglasses are available with either prescription or non-prescription lenses, but the goggles are non-prescription only.
10. Sofia Vergara
Sofia Vergara exudes eternal youth, glamour and beauty, with plenty of passion to boot. So does her line of readers, which she designed in collaboration with Foster Grant.
For those 40 and up who experience presbyopia (age-related farsightedness) and want to feel stylish while wearing reading glasses, this eye-catching collection is for you. The lenses feature reading distance magnifications and are perfect for reading from a book, menu or phone.
Lens powers (strengths) range from +1.00 to +3.50 and come in a variety of frame shapes and styles, including four different pairs with a cheetah print pattern.
11. Iris Apfel
Iris Apfel is perhaps one of the most famous glasses-wearers of our time. Her iconic oversized round glasses have been making their own statement for years — but they’re just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to her latest collaboration with Zenni Optical: the Iris Apfel Edit.
Apfel turned the big 1-0-0 in 2021, and to celebrate, she teamed up with Zenni to curate a 100-pair Zentennial Collection. You read that right, 100 pairs — with styles for both kids and adults. In it, you’ll find everything from Apfel’s original oversized black oval specs to rainbow heart-shaped glasses and polka-dot frames with either prescription or non-prescription lenses. And they’re affordable, starting at just $15.95 a pair.
When asked about the collection and her love for eyewear, Apfel eagerly said, “For me, glasses inspire or finish all of my looks. We all shouldn’t want to look the same and glasses are a fantastic way to find your own unique style and change things up.”
