Burberry’s eyewear collections are distinctly British with signature details
Burberry luxury sunglasses
Nothing says British class and luxury like Burberry, the iconic brand founded in England in 1856. You may know them best for their famous trench coat, but the firm also offers signature Burberry eyewear collections. Burberry sunglasses have a distinctive blend of design and craftsmanship that appeals to both men and women.
Burberry reinterprets classic British style in a modern and startling way yet still offers a classic look. If you appreciate practical and simple beauty, these shades are for you. Styles range from classic aviator to oversized geometric squares. Designed with gradient lenses that offer the darkest tint at the top, these sunglasses signal pure luxury.
When you wear a pair of Burberry sunglasses, the world will know. Each pair bears the unique marks of the globally famous brand. The Burberry logo, the Thomas Burberry Monogram, or the Burberry check and stripe can be found on every piece in their eyewear collection. That proves you’re wearing classic, iconic Burberry.
The Burberry check
The famous Burberry check, a red, black, white and tan plaid, was first used to line raincoats in the 1920s. It was inspired by a traditional Scottish tartan. It was so popular that it soon covered Burberry suitcases, umbrellas, cashmere scarves and more.
Sunglasses soon sported the check as well. Check out these black Burberry sunglasses with the iconic check all along the temples. These large black cat eyes with the check can dress up or down for day or evening wear. And these oversized black glasses with the check are a dramatic statement.
The B Stripe collection
Today, the Burberry check has been reimagined as the Burberry stripe. It can be found on the temples, fronts and bridges of Burberry eyeglasses in the B. Stripe collection.
Women’s styles include oversized glossy acetate sunglasses, available in seven colors. A stunning example is this oversized and geometric tortoiseshell frame flecked with light gold. In contrast, lightweight polished metal designs like this offer an understated elegance with the same B. stripe on the temples. In another version, the famous Burberry stripe runs along the frames of the eyeglasses, and the temples are stamped with the Burberry logo. And these Burberry sunglasses in lightweight acetate will be available soon for those who love a pilot sunglasses look.
Men’s styles include oversized rectangular frames of glossy acetate. They are available in vivid colors, tortoiseshell and Burberry Vintage check.
Sunglasses with the Burberry logo
For the man who wants to go light and easy, a pair of Burberry folding sunglasses comes in black, tortoiseshell and white. The design is classic and elegant with the Burberry logo embossed on the side. For men who love the Burberry check, these rectangular sunglasses offer the unmistakable check. They come in black, tortoiseshell and marble grey. Pilot sunglasses or smaller round sunglasses also sport the Burberry logo on the temples.
For women, these angular aviator sunglasses are embossed with Burberry on the gold temples. These oversized rimless black sunglasses are as well.
The Burberry B
The two interlocking Bs form one of the most famous Burberry logos. They can be seen on a range of colorful, oversized Burberry sunglasses for women. Take these oversized bold Italian frames. And these square frame sunglasses use the two-B motif by carving them out of the temples instead of embossing them. Either way, you’ll know it’s genuine Burberry.
And from spring/summer 2021, these red acetate glasses embossed with a B for Burberry on the temples will catch attention everywhere. They are also available in black or brown frames.

Vintage Burberry: Older collections still available online
Burberry sunglasses aren’t cheap. But you can get a hefty discount buying older models online.
The famous Burberry check was found on all the Burberry sunglasses in its 2016 Regent summer collection. This collection was inspired by Burberry’s iconic store at 121 Regent Street. The street is a major shopping thoroughfare with world-class shops located in west London. The store was originally an art gallery in the late 1800s and still retains its historic allure.
In April of 2016, Burberry launched a signature fragrance for men along with a collection of eyewear. Called Mr. Burberry, the collection featured round shapes and classic yet contemporary style. Burberry advertised the line as “sartorial elegance with rebellious attitude.” British actor and musician Josh Whitehouse was the face of the campaign.
The Regent eyewear collection offered the checked Burberry motif on the temples. Its women’s frame shapes included square, round and phantos. Colors ranged from traditional black to red, blue and Havana. Frame shapes for men were square and rectangular, available in black, electric blue, dark green and dark havana. You can easily find bargains for the Regent eyewear collection on Ebay and other online venues. The Leather Check collection combined the iconic check with the elegance of leather. The check motif is printed on the leather covering part of the temples. Women’s round, rectangular and butterfly frames and men’s all-metal, square and pilot shapes were available. A quick online search for the Havana Leather Check sunglasses can be found on eBay or other online auction sites. Lightweight Check was a chic, feminine line using wax casting, a technique drawn from fine jewelry design. The check design was carved in wax and made into a plaster mold. Next, molten metal was poured. It was hand-finished with colored enamel. The sunglasses came in square and butterfly shapes in acetate and nylon fiber, and in round and rectangular shapes in acetate.
The 2020 summer eyewear collection featured some stunning glasses with the Burberry logo, like the Evolution line designed by Riccardo Tisci. The pink bio-acetate Blake model was named after the British Romantic poet and artist William Blake. It featured square sunglasses with a ‘B’ detail and oversized sunglasses with a polished monogram motif.
