That's what the new Transitions® Gen S™ light-adaptive lenses do. Gen S™ lenses activate faster outdoors and fade back quicker once you're inside.
Transitions® GEN S™ has the fastest light adaptation time in the clear-to-dark photochromic category.* The lenses are completely clear indoors and darken in seconds** once outdoors.
Within 25 seconds of light exposure, the lenses reach a category three lens darkness*** — perfect for sunny days. Once indoors, the lenses return clear in two minutes or less****.
For reference, the previous Transitions® generation of lenses took three minutes to activate. Transitions® GEN S™ lenses also get darker than previous generations, providing even better protection from the sun's harmful UV rays.
Of course, the speed at which photochromic lenses adapt to bright or dark light depends on the light itself. If it's cloudy outdoors instead of full sun, your fade-back time when you get inside will be faster.
