About Dr. Gelb
Medical reviewer Kerry Gelb, OD, spent three years traveling North America and Europe to produce the feature-length “Open Your Eyes” documentary about the importance of eye care in preventive medicine. Upon the film’s release in 2020, Dr. Gelb launched the “Open Your Eyes” podcast that delivers weekly episodes focusing on all aspects of health.
He has been interviewed for radio and television on topics related to ocular health, and he frequently lectures on the diagnosis and treatment of macular degeneration, glaucoma and diabetes.
Dr. Gelb has extensive knowledge and expertise in the evaluation and fitting of specialty or “hard-to-fit” contact lenses, and he is certified in the evaluation and management of corneal refractive therapy (CRT) contact lenses. He is committed to providing the highest quality of care to his patients.
After graduating with honors in 1984 from the Illinois College of Optometry, Dr. Gelb completed a one-year residency in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease. He has been practicing in New Jersey for the past 23 years, where he is a member of the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians. Dr. Gelb is also the President of ALLDocs, the Association of LensCrafters Leaseholding Doctors.
He currently resides in Union County, New Jersey, with his wife and child.
