Larry K. Wan, OD, Special Contributor

A practicing optometrist with Family EyeCare Center in Campbell, Calif., Dr. Wan has conducted many contact lens design and solutions research studies for companies such as Bausch + Lomb, Johnson & Johnson, CIBA Vision, CooperVision, American Optical, Wesley-Jessen, and Dow Corning. He also participated in an FDA phase III clinical trial for a dry eye therapy developed by Inspire Pharmaceutical.

Dr. Wan's many lectures have involved such topics as: "Current Trends, Advanced Contact Lens Fitting and Materials"; "Red Eyes, Dry Eyes and Practical Clinical Pearls"; Specialty Contact Lenses and Advanced Bifocal Fitting"; "Corneal Topography Analysis"; and "Case Presentation and Clinical Pearls, PRK/LASIK." He has written articles for Optometric Economics, Occupational Health and Safety, Optometry Today, Optometric Management, and Contact Lens Spectrum.

Dr. Wan is a member of the Santa Clara County Optometric Society, California Optometric Association, and American Optometric Association. He is past president of Kiwanis International and an American Society of Eye Care Specialist. He completed his doctorate in optometry at Pacific University College of Optometry in 1983.
